First Thoughts on the Project
Today in class, our group tried to think of a problem around campus that affects students. We want to solve a problem that the students will appreciate in the future and that will make our learning environment a better place. One of our first problems we thought of is lunch. We feel that the lunch lines get way to long and around the area of food is very crowded and unpleasant with all those who cut. The lines are so long that everyday the lines must form on the outsides of the turnstiles, causing areas near the lunch tables to become packed and overcrowded. Another problem we thought us is fixing the roof to the stadium at Kuniakea. When people come to watch football or soccer games on a rainy night, the roof has no use of cover the bleachers. Although it may look nice, our school should have functional structures not just for looks. The last problem we thought should be fixed is the staircase that leads to 'Akahi is constantly overcrowded during passing time (especially between lunch periods on block schedules). All those that are walking down to 'Akahi take up the whole staircase, while those that are trying to make there way up cannot really get to their destination because these staircases are overly crowded. This is a problem because students struggle in getting to the places they need to go and it also causes an unsafe environment, where at times, people push and shove their way through all those infront of them. Only these 3 thoughts came to mind as our group began to think of what we should work on for this project during 4th quarter. Hopefully by the end, we are able to solve whichever problem we decide to take on and be successful in it!
